Step 1

First cut the outer fabric roughly to size and iron on H 630.

Step 2

Now cut the welt pockets roughly to size and iron on H 310.

Step 3

Now you can do the fine tuning of all your roughly cut-to-size parts.

Step 4

Fold the pockets over with the right sides facing and turn over all pockets. Cut the seam allowance in a stepped manner and turn the pockets over.

Step 5

Place the pockets on the outer fabric and the lining and pin them down.

Step 6

Topstitch the pockets close to the edges and close the opening left for turning. Sew the two centre seams to obtain three compartments (you can vary the width of the compartments according to your needs).

Step 7

Now close the side seams of the lining and outer fabric pocket. Place the parts on top of each other with the right sides facing and pin them down, leaving a seam allowance. Now sew the parts on 1 cm away from the edge. Afterwards close the bottom seams also 1 cm away from the edges.

Step 8

Place the lining into the pocket with the wrong sides facing and either neaten the upper edge or secure it with a large basting stitch (the edges meet).

Step 9

Now the upper edge is hemmed with bias tape.

Step 10

And there you have it – all your bags neat and organised. Have fun!
